Area Attractions

There is so much to see and do in the areas surrounding the Red Rooster.
Please take a moment to view some of the area's top attractions.

National Baseball Hall of Fame
Baseball's Mecca, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is the largest repository of baseball information in the world and home to the greatest players ever to wear a uniform.

Glimmerglass Opera
Nestled between the Adirondack and Catskill Mountains on Otsego Lake, Glimmerglass Opera performs in the Alice Busch Opera Theater, on Route 80, eight miles north of the quaint Village of Cooperstown.

Fenimore Art Museum
Nestled on the western shore of Otsego Lake, housed in an elegant 1930s neo-Georgian mansion, the Fenimore Art Museum presents a perspective on the heritage and history of America through art.

Farmer's Museum
Rediscover the innocent beauty, the intricate wisdom and the enduring charm of our rural past. Imagine turning the latch, opening the door and stepping over the threshold into another century.

Canajoharie Museum and Art Gallery
The Arkell Museum at Canajoharie has just reopened in a new building, with exhibitions on American art and Mohawk Valley history.

Brewery Ommegang
Ommegang is hard to pronounce but easy to find. Located just five miles south of Cooperstown, NY, our farmstead brewery is open year-round for daily tours and tastings. An intimate walking tour puts you right on the brew floor amidst the sights, smells and sounds of Belgian-style brewing in action.
